Welfare

NOTE: Karingal Park SC also has its own experienced, qualified and friendly welfare staff. The Welfare Coordinators' office is located near the College's General Office. Feel free to visit or phone the College on 9789 4544 if you or your child are having problems of a personal nature connected with school, home or friends.

Allows young people to talk to counsellors online & through email or call 1800 551 1800. (It may take several attempts at peak time). Also provides information sheets on many issues including bullying.

BeyondBlue is a nation-wide initiative to address the issue of depression. Around one million Australian adults and 100,000 young people live with depression each year.

Frankston Youth Resource Centre website. Provides information on services offered as well links to other youth related sites.

Easy way of seeking government financial assistance for the young person and his or her family. Information about youth allowance, family payments and health care cards. This site also has the capacity to cater for LOTS of different languages. Well worth a look!

The Australian Drug Foundation provides accurate drug information, and also addresses hosting teenage parties. Information for all.

Anglicare Victoria is one of the State's largest providers of care and support to children, young people and families in crisis; eg. child abuse, homelessness, a woman and her children escaping domestic violence, unemployment leading to basic family care difficulties, etc.

VictoriaOnline is a good starting place for all kinds of general information on News, Weather, Tourism, Education, Health, Environment, Law, Economics, Employment, etc. While the site has a Victorian focus, it has local, state, national and international links.
